Sally has been training in Shotokan Karate for nearly 20 years now. She first saw Karate when her Husband was practice at home. She was then captivated by it's strangeness. After taking her Son Jason to a local Karate Class Sal wanted to start properly training herself. She sought the advice of her Husband he thought it was best if Sal & Jason were taught by another Instructor. So a short while after Jason started Karate training Sally signed up to train with a local Karate Instructor in Stopsley, Luton, Bedfordshire. She continued to train there under the JKA UK until she reached 7th Kyu. In 1999 with her family she moved to South Devon where she then continued her training under the Instruction of her Husband Ash Hawkes under the Auspices of the E.K.O. (English Karate Organisation). In 2004 Sally took her Shodan under a panel of 3 Senior Instructors and passed with flying colors. Another 3 years would pass before Sally got her Nidan.
